Guess the Implement

It's time for another lightning round of Guess the Implement. I was inspired by this handy little wooden pervertable that was featured at one of the booths at a recent craft show. It's handmade in Canada.

What do you suppose it's for? Besides putting someone on the hot seat, that is. Submit your guesses, and I will reveal the answer tomorrow.

A design template.

An idea of the approximate measurement would help.

A boomerang, and a place for a little piece of string to retrieve, in case "my boomerang won't come back!!!(do you remember the song)

Crackers? No room for cheese but a long row of crackers would fit.

Part of a loom? A shuttlecock?

I think a shuttlecock is shaped more like a little wooden shoe, though.

I'm with anonymous and guessing that it's part of a loom.

OOOOH! I think that I actually know this one. You put a piece of string through the hole and spin it around in a big circle and it makes a sort of whiny whistling sound. I do not know the actual name but I have seen someone who had trained their dog to come back from a long distance, when the dog heard the sound.
